Artemisia Gentileschi is a significant figure in Italian Baroque painting. Daughter of the painter Orazio Gentileschi, she quickly established herself with powerful works often featuring biblical or mythological heroines, such as "Judith beheading Holofernes". His style, influenced by Caravaggio, is characterized by dramatic light contrasts and an expressive use of color. Artemisia has also become an icon of feminism because of her journey and the strong representation of women in her art.
